Czech Openmoko community in cooperation with the FAI UTB Openmobility organized a conference that took place on the 23rd and 24th April in Zlín. Topics were open mobile platforms and technologies. Application of Linux and other free software for mobile devices. Open hardware and protocol specifications GSM.

Friday

Academic day only for students of UTB.

  • Seminars of mobile technologies
    • 9:00 – 9:30 – Introduction to open source development and open source solutions for mobile devices (Ing. Jaroslav Řezník – Red Hat)
    • 9:30 – 10:00 – Demonstration of a free cell phone and Neo FreeRunner Openmoko platform (Martin Holec)
    • 10:00 – 10:30 – Sample platform MeeGo (Maemo) (Ing. Jaroslav Řezník – Red Hat)
    • 10:30 – 11:00 – Introduction of middleware for the development of telephony applications - freesmartphone.org (FSO) (Martin Holec)
  • Practical workshops
    • Qt and MeeGo (11:10 – 12:00) -Qt development platform MeeGo (Maemo) (Ing. Jaroslav Řezník – Red Hat)

  • GPS navigation software (11:00 – 11:50) – state of open navigation software in Linux, bachelor thesis – a flexible GPS navigation for mobile devices (Martin Kolman – FI MUNI)
  • Nokia N900 (14:00 – 14:40) – cell phone from Nokia, Maemo/MeeGo platform (Ing. Jaroslav Řezník – Red Hat)
